Hair Transplantation Pre-Operative Instructions

Step 1
Do not have any aspirin or vitamin E for one week prior to surgery. Be sure to notify Dr. Schwinning of any medications you may currently be taking. Failure to inform such information could result in complications.
Step 2
Refrain from alcohol consumption for at least one day prior to surgery.
Step 3
Do not get a short hair cut prior to the transplant procedure. Hair on the back and sides of the scalp should be at least one inch long.
Step 4
Do not skip eating the day of surgery. Make sure to have a good size meal before the procedure, as well as bring some kind of lunch or snack. The procedure can last anywhere from 3-5 hours and staying well fed and hydrated ensures your comfort and a smooth procedure.
Step 5
You must speak with IHSG personnel to confirm your appointment at least 48 hours in advance. Failure to confirm your appointment can result in its cancellation.
Please note if you wear an artificial hair system you will not be able to put it back on until the second day.
